[00:00:00] Why don't you stand. As we honor the reading of God's Word this morning, we'll read our theme verse. We'll share it together, and then we'll jump over to John chapter two. I'm going to pick up. We've been in a series right now, and Pastor Jim presented a wonderful idea. He said he'd heard me quote a couple weeks earlier, just a phrase about greater glory.
[00:00:25] And he took that, he preached on that the glory of the latter temple will be greater than the former. How many of you believe that we have greater glory ahead of us? Come on. The greatest revivals aren't behind us. The greatest moves of God are yet ahead of us. Can we read this theme verse together?
[00:00:43] Come on, let's all share it together. I want you to read it out loud with me. One, two, three, go. Now, may the God of hope fill you with all joy and. And peace in believing that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. And I want you to look with me at John chapter two, beginning at verse one story you're probably well familiar with. This is what it said. I'm reading out of the new King James this morning.
[00:01:10] On the third day, there was a wedding in Cana of Galilee.
[00:01:15] The mother of Jesus was there. Now, both Jesus and his disciples were invited to the wedding.
[00:01:21] And when they ran out of wine, the mother of Jesus said to him to Jesus, they have no wine.
[00:01:28] And Jesus said, woman, what does your concern have to do with me? This is not a term of disrespect, by the way. It was just affirming her as his mom, essentially. Woman, what does your concern? My hour has not yet come.
[00:01:43] His mother said to the servants, I like this. She kind of ignores what he says.
[00:01:50] Whatever he says to you, do it.
[00:01:54] There were six water pots of stone, according to the manner of purification of the Jews, containing 20 or 30 gallons apiece. Jesus said, fill the water pots with water. They filled them to the brim. He said, draw out some now. Take it to the master of the feast. They took it. When the master of the feast had tasted the wine, the water that was made wine, and did not know where it had come from. But the servants who drew the water knew. The master of the feast called the bridegroom and said, every man at the beginning sets out the good wine.
[00:02:26] And when the guests have well drunk, the inferior.
[00:02:30] But you have kept the good wine until now.
[00:02:34] The beginning of signs Jesus did in Cana of Galilee. This is the beginning of signs Jesus did in Cana of Galilee and manifested in his glory. Manifested his glory.
[00:02:49] And his disciples believed in him.
[00:02:53] In this Trinity Church is God's word.
[00:02:58] You may be seated.
[00:03:02] This is the beginning of signs Jesus did in Cana of Galilee. Now, if you've been with us for the last number of weeks, you'll know that we've kind of been building an idea dealing with how our trials, how our storms are producing something on the inside of each and every one of us we've talked about in Romans 8:18. We suffer. What we suffer now is nothing compared to the glory that he will release in us later. Hallelujah.
[00:03:37] Any of you had any suffering moments over the last month?
[00:03:41] Yeah. Guess what? God's producing glory inside of you.
[00:03:45] Come on. Praise God. 2nd Corinthians 4:17. Our present troubles are small and they won't last very long. Yet they produce for us a glory. Everybody say glory.
[00:03:56] Glory that far outweighs them and will last forever.
[00:04:02] Your troubles produce glory.
[00:04:06] Your tribulation, your suffering produces glory. So if you had some struggles recently, praise God.
[00:04:16] He's producing something great on the inside of you. He's producing glory inside of you. And I declare is a word over this house, it's a word straight out of scripture that the glory of this latter temple will be greater than the former. The greatest revival is not behind us. The greatest revivals, the greatest move of God is yet ahead of us.
[00:04:38] I take encouragement. This isn't just like popular verbiage of the day, you understand.
[00:04:43] Every revival passage in Scripture has end time verbiage tied to it. Do you know that in the last days, I'm telling you, the nearer and nearer we get to the return of Jesus, when he comes back for his bride, it's going to open the door for the mightiest revivals that history has ever known.
[00:05:07] That's powerful. I hope you get excited about it, but what is it going to require of us?
[00:05:13] My wife had a dream several months back. My wife's a dreamer, my wife's a prophet.
[00:05:20] And so I pay attention when she has dreams.
[00:05:24] And she shared with me a dream. I don't have time to share all the details of it, but essentially she saw the roots in the foundations of this church, saw the very down to the very foundation stones and even the rebar that was under, you know, literally what's under us right now.
[00:05:43] And as I've contemplated and chewed on what is the weight and significance of this, I've had some moments where it's like we need to focus on what are the foundations of this Church.
[00:05:57] What are the foundations of this house? If you've been around, even if you've gone through membership, you've walked through Legacy park, you'll see that we've got a word that is posted up all over the church. It's on our website. It's everywhere.
[00:06:11] Is the word substance.
[00:06:13] Everybody say substance.
[00:06:15] This is the tangible, manifest presence of God, glory, and the testimony of Jesus, his eternal word, the authority on which you and I stand. So, again, it's not just popular ideas. Well, this just seems to be the trends of the day. No, this is the authority of Scripture. We believe for the glory of the Lord to be made manifest.
[00:06:40] Just two Mondays ago, I was hanging out with our young adult at TYA and I hadn't been for a while.
[00:06:50] And I don't know if you ever get like this. There's been some shifting in leadership. In fact, I think this is not a secret. But even this Monday, tomorrow night, we'll pray for. As we formally install Rodney to lead that group of Trinity young adults. And so I haven't really been coming around since they've been in that transition phase. And I wondered, man, I knew under the former leadership, boy, the glory of God would just drop in that place. The worship in that atmosphere, so incredible. And I just hadn't been in it for a couple months, you guys. I was in awe when I came in this last Monday.
[00:07:30] And the glory of the Lord, greater than what I had sensed any time before, fell in that room. Young people, I mean, even after the preaching and all the ministry had done, they continued to worship for nearly an hour after the service had been formally dismissed. Because the presence of the Lord was so tremendous, so incredible in that place. And it just, it occurred to me, like, you realize the glory of the Lord is not contingent on who's leading worship in a particular meeting.
[00:08:01] I'm watching these guys, guests from cfni, young people that I don't even know, brand new people. And the manifest presence of God comes in this place. And I've realized, man, you talk to people that have been in this church for nearly 50 years.
[00:08:17] The same thing that I hear about this church in its earliest days. The glory of the Lord has been in the worship. God has shown up when we pray, when we. It doesn't matter who the worship could be a guest worship leader, could be a guest preacher.
[00:08:31] The glory of the Lord has faithfully shown up in this place. And what that tells me, it's not just the desire of a team or a leadership or a vision that has been cast it is the desire of God Himself to demonstrate his glory in our midst. Right here in this place. Come on. Trinity Church is a hub of the presence of God.
[00:08:57] This is a place where you can meet God.
[00:09:03] The glory of the latter temple will be greater than the former.
[00:09:08] So what I wanted to do, I had this verse in my heart, and I wasn't sure if I'd actually preach on it this week. But then I listened to what Pastor Jim preached last week, and then I looked and I saw that this was the first moment where Jesus began to reveal his glory.
[00:09:26] Jesus began to reveal his glory. John 2:11 out of the new living translation says this miraculous sign. The story we just read at Cana of Galilee was the first time Jesus revealed his glory and his disciples believed in him. Now, for those who may not know, glory is when an attribute of God is made manifest.
[00:09:50] Glory isn't just the goosebumps that you feel. Glory isn't just a word of affirmation to a point in a sermon that you like. Glory is when that which is in heaven, that which is available in the Spirit, is made manifest in the earth.
[00:10:08] So when healing takes place, you have sickness in the earth, but that's not an attribute of God. When the virtue of God's healing power is made manifest in someone in need of healing and that sickness goes out of their body and they are restored, that's glory.
[00:10:27] Everybody say glory.
[00:10:29] When you have someone who's being harassed by Satan and all of a sudden that's not in heaven, and you see the freedom that's available in Christ Jesus by the power of his blood, people are set free, depression is broken, anxieties go away.
[00:10:46] That's glory.
[00:10:47] That's glory. Everybody say glory.
[00:10:50] So when that which is in heaven is made manifest in the earth, that's. That's glory. The Bible says in John chapter one that in the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. That's talking about Jesus. And then in verse 14, it says that the Word became flesh and dwelt among us and we beheld the glory of the Lord. So even Jesus putting on robes of flesh and coming to the earth, the Bible calls for glory. Why? Because it is a physical manifestation of that which was in the Spirit.
[00:11:28] Are you trekking with me? When Lazarus was being raised from the dead, he told Mary and Martha, sisters who were in mourning, he says, if you will believe in me, you will see the glory of the Lord as in John, chapter 11.
[00:11:43] But today, this miracle of God's provision, this Revelation of his glory. This was the first instance that Jesus begins to reveal himself. And so my question is, how?
[00:12:00] Because I don't know about you, like, I know that, like, I am confident beyond anything on the authority of Scripture over the prophetic words over this house and what I've just seen and observed and what I've heard, the testimony of others for future 50 years over this house. God's desire is for his glory to be in this place.
[00:12:21] His glory in this place. So how did these guys see the glory of Jesus?
[00:12:28] How did they receive what Jesus desired to pour out? Well, in verse four of our text today, John chapter two, Jesus says to his mom, woman, what does your concern have to do with me? My hour has not yet come. His mom responds to his servants, Whatever he says to you, do it.
[00:12:54] Whatever he says to you, do it. Do you want to see the manifest presence of God?
[00:13:00] Do you desire the glory of God?
[00:13:04] All right, one person. Let me ask you.
[00:13:09] Do you desire to see the manifest presence of God? Come on. In our church, in your home, over your business.
[00:13:19] Well, this is what we must do. I want you to write this down. Write down the word obedience.
[00:13:25] Obedience. Whatever he says to you, do it.
[00:13:31] This was the first step in them seeing the manifest glory of God in their midst. This miracle of God's provision. Whatever he says to you, you do it. Come on, we ought to say that together. One, two, three, go. Whatever he says to you, do it.
[00:13:50] This is how we're going to see the glory of God. These wedding guests were witnesses to the first miracle because there were some people, the Bible calls them servants, who were willing to do what Jesus said to do.
[00:14:06] I've watched. I love the prophetic, I've ministered in the prophetic, but I feel like we're a lot of people. You can get the word of the Lord, but if you never obey what he asked you to do, you'll never see the fulfillment of that word.
[00:14:18] Requires action, requires obedience. This is why Jesus, he says, you want to be a disciple of mine. Matthew 16:24, he said to his disciples, if you want to come after me, you must deny yourself.
[00:14:33] You must take up your cross and follow me. Whoever desires to save his life will lose it. But whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.
[00:14:44] You understand? This is step number one. If you want to see the manifest glory of God in your life, you must learn. What I hear, I obey. It's no longer my agenda, my will, my desires. I'm not trying to affirm my identity. No, I'm looking to my maker, and I'm saying, lord, who do you say that I am? And what is your assignment over my life, and where would you have me go and what would you have me do?
[00:15:13] One of the fun things that we got to do at Fine Arts, you see, you know, people go and they vacation. That's wonderful. You know, my wife and I, we dated in church meetings and prayer meetings and revival. We heard a prayer service. You know, guys are going to the movies and making out with their girlfriends and all of this. Not me and Leah. We're like, there's a revival service going on in Fort Worth. We're gonna go. There's a revival meeting going on over here. And we're gonna. Is that not true?
[00:15:40] And that's what we did. And we're still that way. So everybody's hanging out at Disney World, and we go to revival service.
[00:15:48] We did. And we had the joy of spending some time with Jerry Hill, who is the wife of my mentor, who went to be with the Lord a number of years ago, Steve Hill.
[00:16:00] And I'll never forget, there was an. There was somebody who's asking her, like, how did you see revival?
[00:16:09] What were you guys doing to see that outpouring of the spirit? Historic revival in Pensacola, Florida? Many in this church went to some of those meetings. I know it was highly impacting, even to this congregation.
[00:16:21] And her response, you know, sometimes you hear this and it's like, okay, I'm ready for the secret of revival.
[00:16:29] I'm ready for the. You know, what was the verse? What was the text? What was the prayer meetings that led up to this? And the response was deeply encouraging to me.
[00:16:40] You hear and you obey.
[00:16:45] You want to know how to see revival.
[00:16:47] You hear and you obey.
[00:16:51] You want to see the glory of the Lord made manifest in this church, in your family, over your business.
[00:16:57] You hear and you obey.
[00:17:01] That seems way too simple. But she tells the story. They were. Her and her husband were singing in the choir, and God speaks to them. I want you to help with the youth ministry.
[00:17:12] They heard the prompting of the Lord, and they obeyed.
[00:17:17] Next thing you know, there's a mission trip that's going on overseas. I want you to be a part of that team. They hear and they obey. And as they walk through their story, it's one moment after another after another after another after another. And after hundreds of moments, I heard what the Lord said. I felt a conviction. Go this way. I heard the word that came to me. Do this. Don't go down this path. Avoid this. Embrace this moments like that, hundreds and thousands, one after another. I hear the word of the Lord and I obey the word of the Lord.
[00:17:56] And they saw the glory of the Lord.
[00:17:59] This is a word for us, guys. This is not complicated. Every person within the sound of my voice. You're week one in this church. And I'll have people like they're just getting born again and just pray. I want to hear the voice of God. And my encouragement to them is you understand. You're already hearing him.
[00:18:16] The fact that you came to this church, the fact that you responded to this altar, the fact that I'm praying for you right now is evidence. You're already hearing the whisper of the Holy Spirit.
[00:18:27] Continue to obey him and you will watch your life move from glory to glory to glory. You hear the Lord and you obey the Lord. If you do what he says, you will see what he promised.
[00:18:45] If you do what he says, you will see what he promised.
[00:18:51] The Bible says in First Corinthians 12, Holy Spirit distributes his gifts as his will, as he wills.
[00:18:59] I believe this is one of the great keys to operating in the supernatural.
[00:19:04] It's not about, well, how much can I pray? Can I get the right person to lay their hands on me? Do I have an anointing? You realize as soon as you come into the kingdom of God and his presence comes upon you, the Bible says you an anointing from the Holy One. You've already been anointed. You've already received the spirit of God, the very same spirit that was on Jesus. Life resides in you.
[00:19:28] And so you've got the same capacity for the supernatural that Jesus did. But the key to the miraculous. It wasn't that Jesus had some anointing that you and I do not have.
[00:19:41] He heard what his father was saying, and he said the same things.
[00:19:45] He saw what his father was doing, and he did the same things. First Corinthians 12. It goes through all the gifts of the spirit. Gifts of healing and prophecy and tongues and words of wisdom and words of knowledge, and the list goes on.
[00:20:00] But he says the Holy Spirit distributes these individually as he wills.
[00:20:07] So the key to the supernatural coming into the flow of what Holy Spirit is doing.
[00:20:13] Lord, what are you doing? Not about what I want to see happen, not the anointing that I've contended for. Oh, my spiritual father had this. He laid hands on me, so now I've got that. No, it's none of that. It's Holy Spirit. What do you want to do today, Father? What are you speaking I'm listening and I'm watching for what you're doing. I'm leaning into the prompting of the Holy Spirit. I want to know what's in your heart. Oh, God. And that's what we're going to do.
[00:20:40] And you come into the flow.
[00:20:42] What? You hear him?
[00:20:45] That's what Mama said. Whatever he says to you, do it.
[00:20:51] I hear what you're saying, Lord, and I am going to come in agreement with what you are doing.
[00:21:02] Second idea. I hope you like this one as much as the first one. I might lose some of you on it, but trek with me for a moment. Okay.
[00:21:10] John 2, beginning in verse 7. So this is his instruction. Fill the water pots with water.
[00:21:18] And they filled them to the brim. Everybody say, filled them.
[00:21:23] He said, draw out some. Now take it to the master of the feast. They took it. The master had taken. He tasted that which was made. Wine. Did not know where it came from. The servants knew. The master of the feast called the bridegroom. He said, every man at the beginning sets out the good wine. But when the guests have well drunk the inferior. You kept the good wine until now. I want you to write this down. First was obedience.
[00:21:51] Second is empowerment.
[00:21:55] You must be filled with the spirit.
[00:22:00] You must be filled with the spirit. If you want to see the glory of the Lord made manifest in this house, in your life, over your business, in your marriage, amongst your children, you must be filled with the Holy Spirit.
[00:22:21] Now you say, where's that in the text? Well, there's two places I see it. The imagery of the filling of the water pots.
[00:22:28] Fill them. They must be filled. They were filled to the brim. The Bible says.
[00:22:34] But this is actually the phrase. This is the whole reason this message came into my heart.
[00:22:40] The master over this ceremony says, when the people are well drunk, everybody say, well drunk.
[00:22:51] The reason he's saying this is like, listen, normally people will bring out the best wine at the beginning because your senses are there. You can taste it. Your palate is fresh. And so you discern. You know, this is good wine.
[00:23:08] But as the people become well drunk, their senses are dulled, their palate is not as sharp.
[00:23:18] And as the night goes on, you bring out the cheap stuff and nobody knows the difference.
[00:23:26] So Jesus made the best.
[00:23:31] And I like, this is a neat miracle. This is kind of a side point. But you ever think about this miracle? I mean, he takes water, he turns it into wine.
[00:23:41] Grapes that never grew, grapes that were never harvested, grapes that were never picked or crushed instantly.
[00:23:51] Not crushed, not aged instantly. Fine wine I mean, this is a creative miracle that spans time.
[00:24:03] This is a wild miracle. This is the beginning of the manifestation of the glory of Jesus in the earth. And so he presents to them this wine.
[00:24:13] And they were well drunk.
[00:24:16] Everybody say, well drunk.
[00:24:19] Some people are getting nervous right now. I know. That's fine.
[00:24:23] Something happens when you are well drunk.
[00:24:27] Quiet people become loud.
[00:24:31] Those who are reserved are now outgoing. And everything becomes amplified. Have you ever noticed this?
[00:24:40] Anger amplified, Joy amplified, Passions both good and bad, amplified.
[00:24:49] By the way, this is paralleling, you know, the drinking of wine. I'm talking about being filled with the spirit. And I know after this service is done, somebody's going to come to me. Pastor Jacob, do you drink? What do you think about this? And somebody's going to come to me with some weird thing.
[00:25:04] You ever notice, like, when people try and defend where they stand with this? They use spiritual terms like, I partake of the vine of the Lord or the fruit of the vine. And I've had guys try and argue with me like, I partake of the herb of the Lord. And now my personal position, because I'm sure people wonder. I.
[00:25:32] And this is true. This is not a joke. Jesus told his disciples, you will drink no more until you are with me in paradise.
[00:25:41] And that's the position that my wife and I have chosen to take. I'm not condoning or condemning either position that you may take. You work that out with Jesus. But personally, I'm gonna wait till I can party with Jesus in heaven and we'll go for it.
[00:25:58] But what I also believe in is Ephesians 5, 18, do not be drunk with wine, but be. Be filled with the spirit.
[00:26:08] I'm not going to drink of this, but I am going to drink of the presence of the Lord, and I'm going to drink deeply of the Lord. I want to drink of his presence. And I find it interesting that consistently in Scripture, you see this parallel to drinking wine and being filled with the spirit. Don't be filled with old wine. You know, you see wineskin, verbiage, and you see all of this kind of talk dealing with wine and new wineskins. And be filled with the Spirit. Sing songs and hymns and spiritual songs. Even in Acts, chapter two, in verse 13, Holy Spirit has just been poured out. They're speaking with other tongues. And the fire of God and the wind of God comes.
[00:26:53] But others were watching what was happening. And you remember their response. They're full of new wine for these. But Peter responds in his message, and he says, these are not drunk as you suppose it's only the third hour of the day. It's nine in the morning. This is what was spoken by the prophet Joel. It shall come to pass in the last days, says God, I will pour out my spirit on all flesh. Your sons and daughters will prophesy. Your young men shall see visions. Your old men shall dream dreams. On my menservants, on my maidservants, I will pour out my spirit in those days, and they shall prophesy.
[00:27:38] You want to see the manifest glory of God?
[00:27:43] Drink up.
[00:27:46] Drink deeply.
[00:27:49] Be filled with his presence.
[00:27:53] This is empowerment. You must be filled with.
[00:27:58] With the spirit.
[00:27:59] Something happens, just like I said. People start drinking alcohol and everything is amplified. This reserved person is now vocal, and you see all of these things. But it's the very same thing with the disciples.
[00:28:11] You look at a brash, erratic person like Peter, denying Jesus.
[00:28:18] Violent, ashamed, demonized at one point.
[00:28:24] But he's filled with the spirit. And all of a sudden, he's preaching powerfully, boldly, the gospel, Working miracles, mass baptisms, looking at the very people that crucified Jesus days before, but preaching boldly under the authority of God. The Gospel.
[00:28:43] You read the letters in first and Second Peter, and this is not the same guy.
[00:28:49] This is not the person that cut off the soldier's ear. This is not the same person who denied Jesus by the campfire. This is not the same one who ran away when times got tough, backslid, went back to fishing. That's not the same guy. What happened?
[00:29:06] There were times, even in Acts, chapter four, Peter, the disciples, they're working miracles. They're ministering powerfully.
[00:29:15] Now, Peter and John are on trial, and it says this. When they saw the boldness of Peter and John, they perceived they were uneducated and untrained men. And they marveled. They realized they had been with Jesus.
[00:29:32] They had been drinking of the presence of God.
[00:29:35] They'd been receiving the wisdom of God, the very virtue of God.
[00:29:41] What they were before is being transformed. They are being shaped. They are being molded into the image of Jesus himself. Now, they look like him, they sound like him. The power that flows out of them is the very same power that they saw in the ministry of Jesus. How'd that happen?
[00:30:01] They were well drunk.
[00:30:03] They were well drunk.
[00:30:06] Just a few months back, Tommy Evans came up to me and he told me, you know, Pastor Jacob, you're not the same preacher that you were before.
[00:30:17] I tried not to get offended by it, but it didn't. Like, was I a bad preacher before?
[00:30:23] He's just like you're just. You're not the same as you were when I saw you years ago. Because we did a lot of ministry together, and it's not the same. There's a weight, there's a glory in what you preach now. All right, thanks, Tommy. That means a lot. But as I contemplated, like, where does that come from? Where has that shift happened?
[00:30:46] The last number of years, I'd say specifically the last four to five years. I've learned the joy of abiding in the vine in a way that I didn't. That's wine verbiage, by the way. I'm abiding in the vine, and what's in Jesus flows into me.
[00:31:06] I've learned, for example, to receive communion with expectation. This is wine verbiage, by the way. You eat of the Lord and you drink the cup that represents Jesus own shed blood. This is wine verbiage.
[00:31:24] You're partaking of the Lord. And something struck my heart, like Jesus, he's giving instruction and he said, this is my body which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me. This is my blood. It's the blood of a new covenant. When you take this, do so in remembrance of me. And then he encourages them. I am with you.
[00:31:48] Now. Why is it we're not receiving communion today? But why is it that, like, we come into worship and we expect to encounter God?
[00:31:59] You hear the preaching of the Word and we expect to encounter God. To get a word from the Lord. You go into a prayer meeting and you expect man, God's going to meet me. God's going to speak to me. I'm going to touch heaven. We have expectation around all of these things.
[00:32:15] But with one of the few commands that Jesus left us with, we come in, oh, no, no, no, no, no. Expectation only remembrance, not manifest glory, only symbols.
[00:32:28] And I shifted a couple years ago where I'm like, no, this is body, this is blood. And I receive this, yes, in remembrance. But I do so believing that the same power that was active 2000 years ago is still available right now.
[00:32:48] So I come in with expectation, yes, I can eat a cracker in belief for God's healing power.
[00:32:56] I can take of the cup, I can drink of the Lord with the expectation that what Jesus did only by the blood can be made manifest glory manifest on the inside of me, even as I take of communion.
[00:33:13] In fact, a funny alcohol story.
[00:33:16] Literally, the last time that I drank alcohol was by accident. We were in Haiti, and they were receiving communion in a church service that we were ministering in.
[00:33:27] And so everybody's lining up to receive communion. And I go down the line and I take the cup and I'm praying. I've taken the bread, but now I'm holding the cup and I'm praying, just reflecting, remembering the Lord. And I take of the cup to realize real wine.
[00:33:48] And that's a shock for someone who's not tasted alcohol for 15 years and then to have that hit your system. But I, you know, I felt the burn down into my. And something happened, man, I'm telling you, there was an awareness like this alcohol because you know, you're in a foreign nation. We were in a mission base that was just being built. We've been drinking water that I hope is okay, eating food that I hope is okay.
[00:34:12] But there was a confidence even as I took that wine, as that went in, that, boy, this thing's gonna destroy anything that's sitting in my gut right now.
[00:34:22] But I turned to Leah. Leeah's never tasted alcohol in her life, but I turned to her, I'm like, don't take the communion today. She didn't. And I don't know why I shared that. It's only by the blood. There's cleansing in the blood. That's why there's moments.
[00:34:44] I just want to encourage you to slow down at times.
[00:34:49] We also got to spend some time with Rodney Howard Brown this last week.
[00:34:53] And you know, Rodney is kind of of a different camp, but God has used that guy to stir nearly every revival that's taken place in the last 35 years. And so I, I wanted to sit with him, spend time with him. One of the things that I've noticed about Rodney is he's never in a hurry.
[00:35:10] He's never in a hurry.
[00:35:13] He'll be in a service and just, you know, things go. I mean, they're four hour services, we're not going to move that direction, I promise you.
[00:35:20] But they, but he's never in a hurry.
[00:35:24] The presence of God and the worship, all these things are taking place. And I just watch him as a preacher, I don't think you know how difficult it is to stand in front of a group of people and do nothing.
[00:35:43] This feels like an eternity for me. Maybe it does for you. Do you feel awkward if I'm not talking or doing anything?
[00:35:56] But I'd watch Rodney, he'd just start walking around, not saying anything, not doing anything.
[00:36:05] And all of a sudden, the glory of the Lord fills the place.
[00:36:12] The glory of the Lord fills the place. He's not in a hurry.
[00:36:15] This is why I Like revival nights.
[00:36:18] We're not just not in a hurry. We'll stay in those altars as long as people want prayer.
[00:36:23] We'll give time to seek the Lord and see him move.
[00:36:28] Wait on the Lord.
[00:36:30] This is one of the things that I've discovered. We'd be in these worship services in Kona, and the glory of the Lord would come.
[00:36:39] We'd be in worship, and there were times I would just come up to transition the service, and I'd just stand behind the pulpit and I wouldn't say a word, would just wait on the Lord for a moment.
[00:36:52] And very often the presence of the Lord would so fill the room. You felt as if Jesus himself had just stepped in and began to walk through the aisles. And I think that's probably what was happening. Miracles, terminal brain cancer, wild demonstration, manifestations of the. Of the presence of the glory of God. Made. Made known right there in that place.
[00:37:18] Oh, my.
[00:37:20] I want the glory of the Lord.
[00:37:23] I'm hungry for the glory of the Lord.
[00:37:26] I'll slow down enough. And if I could just encourage you in anything. Sometimes some of you come into your prayer closet and you're just like, I got my list and I have my things, and this is how I pray. And it takes some time.
[00:37:40] Yeah, come to the Lord, worship him, but take some time just to be still.
[00:37:48] Be silent before the Lord. Allow him to respond to the things that you're praying. Give him a moment to come into the room and do all that he desires to do. Those are those drinking moments where you get into his presence. And I'm just going to receive from the Lord, Right? Not my agenda. I'm not saying anything else. Holy Spirit, what do you want to do? I'm going to abide. I'm going to remain in the vine. I'm going to drink of your presence. Second Corinthians says that as you look upon the glory of the Lord, you're like a mirror that will begin to reflect the very same glory as you are being transformed into his glorious image. Even from glory to glory.
[00:38:32] Oh, man, my heart is full preaching this today.
[00:38:36] The other thing that I like about this drinking verbiage, if I can be candid with you, how often do you need to hydrate?
[00:38:49] This wonderful vocal ensemble a moment ago began with the line, if healing is the children's bread, how often do you need to eat?
[00:39:03] As often as some of you feel like. I feel like this is a word of the Lord. Some of you do not respond healing calls because it's like, I've Got a pain in my knee, but it's not as bad as that cancer, somebody's. You don't want to bother God.
[00:39:20] Healing is the children's bread. As often as you are hungry, eat.
[00:39:26] As often as you need a drink, Drink if you're thirsty, drink deep. God does not have a shortage of glory. He does not have a shortage of presence. He doesn't have a shortage of resource. He has all that you need. And guess what? He can take care of the big stuff and your pinky toe. That hurts.
[00:39:50] And he cares about it. He cares. It blows my mind. The little things that God will just do. Like, hey, I'm with you.
[00:39:59] You ever have those little moments with God? It's just. It's something so insignificant, but it's just you have these moments where you just feel that God. You see me picking up my kids from practice. You see that?
[00:40:18] Let's review quickly. And then I've got one more.
[00:40:21] We want to see the glory of the Lord. It will require obedience. Whatever he says to you, do it.
[00:40:28] Secondly, we must be empowered. We must be filled with the Spirit.
[00:40:34] Number three, I want you to write this down. Hunger.
[00:40:38] We must stay in the glory.
[00:40:42] We must stay in the glory.
[00:40:48] In verse 11 of our text, this was the beginning of signs Jesus did in Cana of Galilee and manifested his glory. And watch what the response was. The disciples believed in him.
[00:41:02] After this they not just Jesus, now they are following. They went down to Capernaum. He, his mothers, his brothers and his disciples.
[00:41:15] They believed him and they followed him.
[00:41:20] I like that.
[00:41:23] They saw the glory of the Lord and they said, I'm going to stay with the glory.
[00:41:29] I'm going to follow the glory. They had a revelation. This is God made manifest. And they believed and they followed him. By chapter six of the Gospel of John, you'll notice that there are masses now following Jesus. And the Bible says, why? They saw the miracles, the manifest glory of the Lord. And they tasted bread that was multiplied. That's glory.
[00:41:57] They were hungry for more.
[00:41:59] And so multitudes began to follow after Jesus. They were hungry for more.
[00:42:10] Guys, I cannot live on the touch I got 20 years ago.
[00:42:16] I cannot.
[00:42:18] I mean, you talked. It was. It was so fun to just see pastors that we ran with years ago at District Council this last week. I mean, just incredible. And these guys, you know, like we had memories. Like we sat with the pastor that led my daughter to Jesus when she was six years old. And to sit and remember those moments. Mariah crying in the presence. And just how power I still Remember, that service was so powerful.
[00:42:44] God was moving. Hundreds being born again. And then the power of God, the glory of God broke out in that meeting. And I. I still remember it.
[00:42:53] It's wonderful.
[00:42:55] I got touched in meetings like that.
[00:42:57] And, man, 20 years ago, you ask the people. I've known, Ryan Jones, I've known my wife. I've known people in this church for 20 years. And you can ask them. I was the first one to respond in an altar call.
[00:43:10] God is moving. I'm going to be the first one down there. I'm going to be front and center, hands lifted. I want to receive what God has for me. I want to drink of his presence. I need more of the glory of the Lord.
[00:43:21] But I got stories from two days ago.
[00:43:25] Two days ago.
[00:43:27] I'm still hungry.
[00:43:30] I still long for the glory of the Lord. That's why I'll sit with Rodney for 14 hours and just. I just want anything that you have. That's why I'll be the first one to come down for prayer. It's why I go to church on Sundays. There's this weird thing that's come into the church worship team, you better come or I'm not going to stop talking.
[00:43:50] I get. I get passionate about this kind of stuff. There's. There was a weird thing that came into the church world a few years ago.
[00:43:57] I don't hear much of it today, but it's like, people would rail on. On congregations and your pastors just like, belittling. You know, I'm not receiving anything from the Lord. And you'd hear pastors like, well, you need to come to church hungry or you need to fill up before church is just to celebrate. You need to fill up before. You should be filling up in your prayer rooms. You should be filling up. And I get that you need to have your personal relationship with Jesus, but, friend, it's okay to come to church to be filled.
[00:44:32] And I don't say this to anybody in this room, and people don't like this kind of stuff. But somebody watching online, if you're in a dead church, get out.
[00:44:42] Find a place where the river is flowing. Find a place where you can drink of the glory of the Lord.
[00:44:48] I'm serious. And if the glory ever leaves this place, you can leave, too.
[00:44:52] But God has faithfully been here. And we contend. It's why core value number one, we're gonna contend for substance. We're gonna give place to the glory of God. That's why we have altar calls every single time we get together. We'll cast your devils out. We'll believe for your healing. We'll call for people to come to Jesus. We'll believe for prod to come home and for the restoration of marriages. We're going to contend for a cancer free zone and a divorce free zone. We're going to believe for jubilee to take place in our 50th year. We will see the glory of the Lord.
[00:45:29] I've never pulled up to a gas station and had the attendant rebuke me. Weren't you here just last week?
[00:45:37] You're empty already.
[00:45:39] Yeah, because I've been going, I've been burning, and now I need to be filled again. So you come into the presence of God and something happens when the people of God come together. Oh, we engage the Lord. And I'm filled and I'm refreshed and I'm encouraged and I get fresh direction and revelation and I see the glory of God on your life. Where's the worship team? I thought I told you guys, come.
[00:46:06] Oh, brother Roland, you're here. Okay, we can stop.
[00:46:14] Drink as often as you need. Eat as often as you need. If you are spiritually thirsty, drink again.
[00:46:24] God's supply will never run out. And if I can just say, people are drawn to the glory of the Lord.
[00:46:32] People are drawn to the glory of the lord.
[00:46:35] Luke, chapter six, very powerful verse, verse 17.
[00:46:39] He came down with them. He stood in a level place with the crowd, his disciples, a great multitude from all Judea, Jerusalem, the sea coast of Tyre and Sidon. They came to hear him and be healed of their diseases. You don't know why they came to Jesus meetings.
[00:46:55] Glory, I'm going to hear a word from God and I have needs in my life. I've got sickness in my body. I got the devil hanging on my back. And he's going to minister.
[00:47:08] They came to hear him to be healed of their diseases as well as those who are tormented with unclean spirits. And they were healed, man.
[00:47:21] The glory is attractive even to unbelievers. They don't know, but they know. God speaks, God heals and God sets free.
[00:47:32] May that be our testimony.
[00:47:35] May that be the reason that people are drawn to this place.
[00:47:39] We're gonna do our best with social media. We're gonna do our best. We'll advertise and we'll do egg hunts and we'll do all this stuff.
[00:47:46] It's all wonderful.
[00:47:48] Those are nets, you understand?
[00:47:51] And we're going to cast as many nets as we can.
[00:47:55] But I believe the people, the reason that people will remain the reason that they will stay, the reason that they will dig roots. And I'm going to be a disciple in this place.
[00:48:04] It's going to be because of the glory of the Lord.
[00:48:08] God shows up.
[00:48:10] The Lord speaks to me.
[00:48:12] God changes me.
[00:48:14] God heals me. When I was in need, when I needed to taste of the children's bread of healing, oh, I had a place where I could eat.
[00:48:23] When I needed to be refreshed in the spirit There was a place that I could go and I could drink of the presence of the Lord.
